Dato' Rumaizi bin Baharin @ Md Daud was appointed as the Mayor of Ipoh on 1 April 2020. Born on 17 April 1975 in Ipoh, Perak. He started his career as an Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Rural Development on 1 April 2000.

He began his service in the state of Perak on 15 April 2003 as Assistant Director in the Land and Mines Office and subsequently as Senior Private Secretary to the Menteri Besar of Perak Darul Ridzuan on 16 November 2009 and Secretary of the Perak State Assembly and MMK, Perak State Secretary Administration on 1 February 2010.

He holds a Premier Business Management Certificate from Harvard Business School, a Master of Science in Land Development & Administration from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Diploma in Public Management (INTAN) and Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) from Universiti Utara Malaysia.

His last position before being appointed as the Mayor of Ipoh was as Director of Lands and Mines of Perak on 27 March 2017.
