Javiera Perez Ribalta
Javiera is the Nature-based Solutions Programme Manager – Climate at BirdLife International, where she leads global work on the conservation and restoration of grasslands and wetlands for climate resilience, biodiversity, and community benefit.
Originally from Chile, Javiera's passion for nature was shaped by a deep connection to the Valdivian Rainforest, sparking a lifelong commitment to environmental protection. Her career spans science, strategy, and communication—combining hands-on ecological expertise with a strong background in stakeholder engagement and project delivery. She has worked across grassland and forest restoration, regenerative land management, and environmental consultancy, including as founder and former director of Fundación Regenerativa, where she developed community-driven restoration initiatives.
Javiera holds an MSc in Biodiversity, Conservation and Management from the University of Oxford and a BA in Sociology from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.
