Femke Nijsse

Femke Nijsse is a complexity scientist with a focus on innovation and the energy transition, currently leading the Economics of Energy Innovation and System Transition (EEIST) II project. Her work focuses on improving flexibility options in the E3ME-FTT model to better understand the integration of high shares of variable renewables in electricity grids. Previously involved in the first EEIST project, Femke enhanced the representation of the power sector by refining learning mechanisms, data quality, and energy storage and led improvements into the representation of the residential heat model.
