BladeBUG is a UK based robotics company that designs and develops inspection and repair robots to perform detailed tasks and collect high-value data in hazardous and extreme environments. Its latest innovative robot, an agile 6-legged multifunctional crawler has been designed from its inception to enhance the efficiency and profitability of wind turbines and help lower the cost of energy without rope access or subject matter expertise onsite. Demands for wind energy projects for efficient and safe turbine maintenance have prompted new developments in safety, tool portability, and compactness which is what differentiates BladeBUG from its competitors. At 1/5th of the weight and a fraction of its rival’s size, this rapidly deployable robot can be easily scaled making it well-suited for offshore deployment and further reducing the time workers spend offshore.
