Alice Delahunty

President, UK Electricity Transmission - National Grid

Alice is responsible for building and maintaining the electricity transmission network in England and Wales, and playing a critical role in enabling and delivering against the government’s net-zero commitments.

Previously, she was National Grid’s Head of Network Optimisation and responsible for the asset management of a £12 billion portfolio of equipment. Prior to joining National Grid. Alice held a number of senior roles in E.ON, including Head of Operations for the offshore wind business, where she was responsible for the full safety, technical and financial performance of almost 2 GW of offshore wind around the UK. Alice started her career in E.ON as an electrical test engineer before moving into research and development, focusing on low-carbon technologies. Moving into asset management, she was responsible for implementing a new maintenance strategy across the UK generation fleet. She spent four years in Slovakia and Germany, where she used her expertise in maintenance strategy and change management to implement major local change projects. In September 2019, Alice was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in recognition of her exceptional and continuing contribution to the sector.
