Truman Semans
Truman Semans is Founder/CEO of OSCAR, a non-profit developer of regulatory-grade open source tools for governments’ climate adaptation & resilience (AR) and transition risk analysis, planning and investment. For 35 years, he has been a thought leader, executive and entrepreneur working in government, business, NGOs and think tanks to drive innovation in climate/nature-aligned investing, finance, business, economic development and policy. Previously, Truman was Founder/CEO of Linux Foundation OS-Climate, a climate data/software development co-op of members including Allianz, Bloomberg, BNP Paribas, Goldman Sachs, and Microsoft whose data architecture was adopted by TNFD. At McKinsey and as a Partner of GreenOrder, Truman advised the CEOs and management team of Shell, Rio Tinto, Duke Energy, DuPont, Alcan, GM, GE, Morgan Stanley, etc., on tapping sustainability to drive growth and profitability. As U.S. Treasury International Economist, he managed US strategy, policy and technical engagement in the Global Environment Facility and its implementing agencies, the World Bank, IFC, UNDP and UNEP. He sits on the Duke University School of Environment Board of Visitors and the National Wildlife Federation Investment Committee.
