Tom Hardy is the Co-Founder and Chief Technical Officer of Elbow Beach, established in 2021. He leads the technical and environmental impact due diligence for potential investments, ensuring that portfolio companies align with rigorous sustainability and growth metrics. Post-investment, Tom works closely with founders to optimise technologies, scale operations, and strengthen Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategies.

With over 20 years of experience in conservation, sustainability, and environmental technology, Tom brings a unique perspective to venture investing—combining deep technical knowledge with strategic insight to identify high-impact opportunities. Before co-founding Elbow Beach, he served as an environmental consultant, advising businesses and high-net-worth individuals on regulatory frameworks and sustainability best practices.

Tom holds a BSc and an MSc in Oceanography from the University of Southampton. His passion lies in backing transformative technologies that deliver both strong returns and measurable environmental impact.
