Tessa Younger
Tessa Younger leads CCLA’s ‘Better Environment’ work, managing stewardship on environmental issues, including climate change and nature, with the aim of driving improvements at investee companies. She is an active member of the PRI’s Spring advisory committee for nature and the IIGCC UK policy working group. She has drafted CCLA’s consultation responses on issues including Scope 3 emissions disclosure and the Department for Transport’s draft National Networks National Policy Statement.
At CCLA, Tessa also co-leads an ongoing climate transition plan vote initiative with the Local Authority Pension Fund Forum, encouraging companies to give shareholders a regular advisory vote on their climate transition plans.
Tessa joined CCLA in January 2023. Previously, she spent many years at PIRC Ltd, Europe’s largest independent corporate governance and shareholder advisory consultancy, most recently as Head of Engagement. At PIRC, she developed active ownership strategies for asset owner clients, led company engagement and supported market-wide change on climate risk and carbon emissions.
Tessa holds an MA in Geography from the University of Edinburgh and studied Energy Management and Policy at the University of Pennsylvania.
