Edinburgh International Festival
Terry joined the Edinburgh International Festival in December 2022, responsible for leading the development and delivery of the sustainability and carbon reduction plans.
In 2025, he led the International Festival to become the first Arts organisation and charity to be accepted on to BSI’s Net Zero Pathway. This means that they have implemented rigorous reporting methods, meeting ISO 14064-1 standards, and they have a strategy to achieve Net Zero across the organisation by 2045.
He supports the wider Arts sector across Scotland and Europe, currently chairing the Festivals Edinburgh Sustainability Working Group, a collaboration between all 11 festivals that make up the world leading Festival City. He is also a member of several sustainability collectives across Scotland and Europe, including Scottish Classical, Opera Europa, Green Arts Initiative and the Edinburgh Climate Compact.
Prior to joining the International Festival Terry led the Behaviour Change depart at Sustrans Scotland, a charity that promoted Active Travel; led Public Health Projects at Wigan and Wirral Council and worked as a Research Assistant at Edinburgh Napier University.
