Stuart Dainton is Head of Land Management and Estates at the National Forest; a 200 square mile landscape regeneration programme in the Midlands. Stuart is responsible for the management of the charity’s own land within the Forest and the grant support initiatives to landowners to help plant and manage trees across the Forest landscape. Stuart has had a varied career, starting out as a cartographic surveyor, then serving 23 years as a Royal Air Force Logistics Officer working in many different environments across the globe. In seeing the different impacts around our planet, and the destruction caused, Stuart changed careers to follow a passion for sustainability, health and the environment. For the last 17 years, Stuart has worked in business, the public sector and charity sector delivering environmental change programmes.
