Ste is the practice-wide Strategic Lead for Decarbonisation and Retrofit at BDP, the UK’s largest multidisciplinary architecture practice, where he leads and shapes the firm’s end-to-end advisory and delivery services for low-carbon transformation of the built environment.

He is also an expert advisor with organisations such as the AECB (Association for Environment Conscious Building) and guides clients across all major sectors in retrofit, decarbonisation, estate optimisation, adaptive reuse, and practical routes to Net Zero.

Ste’s approach is organisationally aligned and grounded in a holistic understanding of buildings and estates as interconnected ecosystems. Drawing on extensive experience as an architect delivering ambitious low-energy new-build, retrofit, and masterplanning projects, he bridges policy, strategy, and delivery to help organisations achieve effective decarbonisation and retrofit at scale.

Prior to joining BDP, Ste spent seven years as a Director at URBED, a highly influential UK consultancy specialising in low-energy design and co-design. His inclusive, collaborative approach is driven by climate and social action, ensuring clients and communities are active partners in shaping more sustainable and climate-resilient futures.
