Simon Bones

CEO and Founder , Genous

Simon is founder and CEO of Genous, which he started in 2022. Previously, he co-founded, grew, led as managing partner and sold international strategy consulting firm Credo, where his market interests included construction/property/infrastructure services. He also worked extensively in software/tech, and started and ran a tech start-up within Credo (in B2B pharmaceuticals) back in the early 2000s.
He is a published academic in climate change science (and has been a visiting research fellow at University of Bristol), and has long had a personal passion for addressing climate change.
This interest has led him in his personal life has led him to retrofit three properties for energy efficiency, including installing solar PV, heat pumps, biomass, insulation (wall, roof and floor), performance glazing and other fabric-first interventions, EV charging and smart tech. Having faced the struggles of getting good and holistic advice and finding well-priced, effective delivery, he set up Genous to address these challenges and provide a better way to deliver intelligent retrofit.
Simon has masters degrees in Physics and Philosophy (University of Oxford) and Climate Change Science and Policy (University of Bristol)
