Simon Bager
Simon Laursen Bager, PhD is a climate and sustainability expert specialising in carbon dioxide removal (CDR) and strategic climate advisory. He is the co-founder and COO of Klimate, which supports organisations in developing and implementing high-quality CDR solutions for credible net-zero strategies. Klimate works across engineered and nature-based CDR pathways, connecting project developers with companies committed to measurable climate impact.
Simon holds an MSc in Environmental Policy (Lund University), an MSc in Geography (University of Copenhagen), and a PhD in Earth Sciences (UCLouvain, Belgium). He has over a decade of experience advising public and private actors on climate strategy, sustainability, and policy. Prior to Klimate, he worked as a sustainability consultant and in academia, focusing on climate strategies and international frameworks, including the UN system and SBTi.
Simon is co-founder and board member of the Nordic Carbon Removal Association (NCRA), serves on the industry advisory panel at the University of Copenhagen, and various advisory boards. He is an experienced lecturer at universities in Denmark and internationally and regularly participates in panels and public debates on climate and CDR.
