Rayne Van Den Berg
As former Chief Financial Officer of Forico, Rayne van den Berg led a multidisciplinary team to develop Forico’s first three Natural Capital Reports – some of the first of their kind in the world - to articulate the value of nature in a financial reporting format.
Currently, Rayne has founded the Capitals Coalition’s Australia hub, Value Australia, and is leading the Global Forestry Natural Capital project, which is convening 18 of the world’s largest sustainable forestry owners, with custodianship of more than 28 million hectares across 38 countries, to measure, value and prepare harmonised Natural Capital Accounts.
Rayne also led an extension project with Farming for the Future and the Commonwealth Bank to incorporate the economic benefit of shelter belts on agricultural land into rural land valuations.
She is also part of the team driving the global Nature on the Balance Sheet initiative – aiming to recognise the economic value of natural capital, which can enhance financial stability an
d promote sustainable growth
