Since 2007, Phil has led the Parks Trust’s engagement with the planning and development of Milton Keynes, advocating the Trust’s stewardship model and working to ensure the growing city’s expanding network of green infrastructure is planned and designed according to the principles that were applied when Milton Keynes was first created as a ‘green city’, and bringing new green spaces in development areas into the long term care of the Parks Trust. Phil also plays a lead role in the Parks Trust’s strategy for nature, which works to make the Trust’s land in Milton Keynes the best it can be for biodiversity and for the provision of ecosystem services. Phil’s background is in landscape and nature conservation management and earlier times in his career were spent working in local authority parks and countryside services, the National Trust and the Nature Conservancy Council. Phil is an advocate of organisations working collaboratively and in joined-up ways for the benefit of nature. He is currently Chair of the Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes Natural Environment Partnership.
