Before following a career in Industry Nick studied for a PhD and carried out post-doctoral research into metal forming at the University of Sheffield. Nick has variously worked for Forgemasters, Primetals (Davy McKee), Hoogovens staal in Holland and at various locations in “British Steel/Corus/Liberty/ Tata”, always in roles with a strong technical bias, Nick is currently manager of a team of just over 50 staff covering Product Management and Development and Customer Technical Support. Over the last 8 years Nick has focussed on decarbonisation and sustainability – topics that will define the future of the UK steel industry.
