Natalie is an accomplished Architect and the visionary founder of Southgate & Sarabia Architects, an esteemed firm with a presence in both Leeds and Manchester. With a robust portfolio that spans small-scale fit-out projects to expansive residential masterplanning schemes, Natalie's firm collaborates with a diverse range of clients, including social housing providers, private developers, and major corporations such as Airbus, Geary’s and other high end brands.
Natalie’s expertise is vast and multifaceted, with a particular passion for heritage, conservation, masterplanning, housing, education, extracare, and sustainable community developments. Her commitment to excellence has been recognised through over 30 regional and national awards for design, innovation, and sustainability.
Beyond her architectural practice, Natalie has dedicated over two decades to education, serving as a part-time lecturer and tutor at Leeds Beckett University. She also contributes her expertise as a professional Part 3 examiner for the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and frequently acts as a visiting lecturer at various universities, enriching the next generation of architects with her knowledge and experience.
In 2024, Natalie co-founded Constructive Futures (CF), a Community Interest Company aimed at guiding young people from diverse backgrounds into the construction industry. This not-for-profit organisation strives to provide meaningful social value by helping 1 in 5 school leavers find opportunities in construction and real estate through coordinated efforts with industry bodies such as RICS, RIBA and Constructing Excellence, councils, schools, colleges, and universities. CF ensures equal access to these opportunities by covering expenses for events and site visits, thus eliminating financial barriers for students.
Natalie’s work with Constructive Futures embodies her dedication to social equity and community development. She is passionate about linking industry with education, providing work experience, mentorship, and ambassadorships to young people, and ensuring that every student has the same chances to succeed.
