Michel is a specialist in energy law, competition law, and commercial contracts. The focus of his practice is on the energy transition. He advises national and international companies, as well as governments and public sector institutions.

Michel has been affiliated with the International Institute for Energy Law in Leiden and the European Commission, DG for Energy. Additionally, Michel is Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Amelander Energy Cooperative, a member of the steering committee of the Ameland solar park, a member of the Dutch Competition Law Association, and a member of the Dutch Energy Law Association.
