Matt Buckler
Matt Buckler is Executive Director of Strategy & Innovation at Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, leading the development of nature-based solutions across the county. Throughout his career, he has developed innovative financing models that bring together utilities, developers, government and conservation bodies to deliver landscape-scale restoration.
His work focuses on creating partnerships and business models that enable nature recovery at scale, particularly through the development of nature based solutions. The Derwent Living Forest programme exemplifies this approach, bringing together multiple stakeholders to deliver catchment-wide transformation.
Matt co-chairs the Nature-Based Solutions Strategy Implementation Group for The Wildlife Trusts. He holds an MSc in Habitat Creation and Management and a BSc in Pure and Applied Ecology from the University of Sheffield.
His work demonstrates how nature-based solutions can create value for business, communities and the environment through collaborative, landscape-scale approaches.
