Maria Walsh
Maria Walsh leads the team behind the WWF Risk Filter Suite, a free platform for companies and financial institutions to assess and act on their water and biodiversity risks.
She joined WWF in 2021, where she headed the technical development of the WWF Biodiversity Risk Filter and supported it’s launch at the World Economic Forum in 2023. She now oversees the team responsible for the full WWF Risk Filter Suite, including both the WWF Biodiversity and Water Risk Filters. In over 10 years of experience as an environmental manager, Maria has explored how solid environmental data can best support corporate sustainability processes, guide financial flows and streamline an understanding of relevant aspects of our natural environment.
This work culminates in the WWF Risk Filter Suite's mission to bridge the gap between rigorous scientific data collection and the need for clear, relevant insights that are usable in a business context.
