BII is the UK’s development finance institution with a mission to help solve the biggest global development challenges by investing patient, flexible capital to support private-sector growth and innovation.  BII focuses on investments that are productive, sustainable and inclusive.   In her role, she is responsible for the firm’s aim of establishing a world class impact management framework to oversee the assessment, measurement and management of development impact activity and as well leading on areas such gender and diversity finance and climate change.

Liz was previously at Standard Chartered, where she held senior positions including Group Company Secretary, CEO of Standard Chartered Bank Tanzania and Group Head of Public Affairs. Before that, she was Deputy Chief of Staff for Prime Minister Tony Blair and a senior adviser on Africa, Home Affairs and the Environment at No 10. She received a CBE in 2008.
