Kavya Kaushik - Hurd

Kavya Kaushik

Head of Product, Hurd
Kavya Kaushik brings 15 years of experience at the intersection of activism and startups, merging these two worlds in her current role as Head of Product at Hurd - a global app designed to drive meaningful climate action at work. Hurd is built on a simple belief: that employees are the most underutilised resource in the climate movement. The app equips them with the tools, confidence, and community to make their workplaces greener, smarter, and more sustainable.
Kavya’s career began in politics, where she stood for Parliament at the age of 24. Her campaign focused on climate justice and DEI, setting the tone for a career defined by impact. Her sharp eye for both policy and comic timing led her to become an unlikely viral sensation through a talk radio show on bin collections, which spotlighted overlooked issues in public sanitation policy.

Following her time in politics, Kavya built a career in social purpose and women-led startups, where she specialises in using tech to drive systemic change. Her expertise in product development and growth hacking has powered a range of projects focused on community engagement, social equity, and environmental transformation.

At Hurd, Kavya brings all these threads together. The app combines micro-learning, games, and social storytelling to make workplace climate engagement feel personal, fun, and powerful. By helping users turn small actions into shared momentum, Hurd supports employees at all levels - from interns to executives - in shaping a more sustainable future from the inside out.

At the People and Careers Hub, Kavya will explore how to activate employee potential as a force for climate action - and why building culture and community is just as important as cutting emissions. With a background that spans the grassroots to the boardroom, she offers a rare and energising perspective on what it means to turn belief into action, and action into change.
