Councillor , Leeds City Council Climate Emergency Advisory Committee
Councillor Katie Dye is a local politician serving on Leeds City Council representing the Killingbeck and Seacroft ward in east Leeds. She is actively involved in environmental and climate initiatives across the city. She chairs the council’s Climate Emergency Advisory Committee, a cross-party group of councillors that advises on strategies for the council. She is also the Co-Chair of the Leeds Climate Commission, an independent advisory body that brings together a wide range of people from the public, private and third sectors to support, facilitate and enable the delivery of climate action across Leeds. The commission is the convening partner for the Resilient Sustainable City strand of the council’s ambitions which aims for Leeds to become the UK’s first net zero and nature positive city, rapidly reducing carbon emissions and restoring nature, supporting people and businesses to make increasingly sustainable choices that improve their standard of living and create a regenerative thriving city.
