John Lindberg

John joined ICMM in July 2022 and serves as Policy & Government Affairs Principal, leading ICMM’s global policy agenda and multilateral engagement strategy. His work focuses on responsible mining and metals, critical minerals, standards, traceability and the role of minerals in enabling clean energy technologies. John has a broad background spanning international policy, public affairs, energy, climate and responsible resource governance, having previously worked in the global nuclear sector. He has engaged across major international policy processes, including the UN, G7/G20, OECD and EU contexts and serves as Co-Facilitator of the Business & Industry Major Group to UNEP. John is also completing a PhD in social psychology, with research focused on public perception, risk communication and radiophobia and has published peer-reviewed work on nuclear energy and societal risk.
