Having started working in in the public sector just over a decade ago, Hermela has held economic development roles within local government, working on inclusive placemaking, workspace and business focused programmes. She joined the Greater London Authority as an Economic Development Manager in 2024 - focusing on the Royal Docks Regeneration Programme. She currently leads the Royal Docks Sustainability Network. A passionate systems thinker and strategist, driven by a desire to deliver fairer and greener places for all.
