He has worked with the UN across the Caucasus, and in the Western Balkans as UN diplomat, building the first UN NZEB offices in Montenegro. He has advised the European Parliament on net zero pathways and strategies and is now the coordinator of Net Zero Sarajevo.  Garret is also the Irish Green Party policy convenor for Foreign Policy and Defence and led drafting of new Green Defence and Neutrality policies as well as International Development.
