Francesco Notari
Chief Sustainability Officer
,
Ogyre
Francesco Notari is a lawyer and historian by training, with a background in corporate law, civil service and public administration. He has lectured at several universities and spoken at events across different fields. A curiosity for new places, cultures and the people who shape them brought him to Ogyre.
Ogyre is a purpose-driven startup at the intersection of environmental action and community development. It has built a global network of fishermen who collect marine waste during their daily fishing operations, working with people already on the water rather than building new infrastructure. The initiative is backed by global and local companies and endorsed by UNESCO through its Ocean Decade programme.
As Chief Sustainability Officer, Francesco oversees sustainability strategy and the partnerships that make the network function, from regulatory frameworks to funding structures and community engagement.
At Reset Connect, his session Fishing for Change will explore three issues: the scale of marine plastic pollution, the decline of fishing communities worldwide and people-centred solutions that can address both. The conversation is aimed at organisations ready to move from awareness to action.
