Dorothy Shaver is a leading authority in food sustainability, currently serving as the Global Food Sustainability Lead for Unilever’s €13 billion Food Business Group. With two decades of experience spanning product innovation, research and development, marketing, retail, healthcare, and personalized nutrition, Dorothy has a proven track record of driving positive health and environmental impacts linked to improved business outcomes.
At Unilever, Dorothy spearheads the sustainability agenda for globally recognized brands such as Knorr, Hellmann’s, and Horlick’s. She has successfully integrated sustainability into the core of these brands' innovation and communication strategies. Notably, she led the creation of the Knorr and WWF’s Future 50 Foods report and Cookbook, which garnered seven billion earned media impressions across 95 countries, significantly enhancing brand visibility and consumer engagement.
Dorothy also conceived and leads Unilever’s regenerative agriculture transition strategy, which has demonstrated substantial impacts on nature and climate. Her strategic vision and leadership have positioned Unilever as a frontrunner in sustainable food practices, aligning business growth with environmental stewardship.

Dorothy holds an undergraduate degree in dietetics from Framingham State University and a master’s degree in public health education from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Residing in Amsterdam, she continues to inspire and lead the charge towards a more sustainable and nutritious food system.
