Dominic Lavelle is the Founder and CEO of Go Green Experts, a leading Net Zero and Sustainability consultancy established in 2019.
Go Green Experts are a fast growing company with an international client portfolio that successfully helps hundreds of businesses reduce their environmental footprint and confidently navigate towards Net Zero.
There are three areas where Go Green and Dominic focus on helping companies:
1. Sustainability Reporting & Compliance
2. Programme Delivery to ensure change happens on the ground
3. A focus on client commercial Success by ensuring a differentiated vision and strategy, and then a clear pathway to winning more business
The key here is that Net Zero and Sustainability initiatives usually have a clear and compelling return on investment, if the right things are measured at the business case stage. Most Finance and Commercial departments in large companies are not experienced in quantifying the benefits of sustainability initiatives.
Dominic also volunteers for the Carbon Accounting Alliance, where he leads a project to develop a comprehensive Wiki designed specifically for carbon accountants. His work in this role reflects his broader commitment to advancing sustainability knowledge and best practices across industries.
Dominic is a qualified accountant and his background is in leading Commercial and Strategy teams. There are many similarities between financial accounting and carbon accounting and so Dominic is using his background in accounting and commercial decision making to support the CAA.
There is a lot of work to do to make carbon accounting as robust and consistent as is now the case in financial accounting. This is an interesting – and very important – problem to solve, and it needs to be solved quickly.
Dominic’s personal carbon footprint in 2024: 9.16 tonnes CO2e (lower than the 9.5 tonnes UK average). Dominic tries to live a low carbon lifestyle and has a personal goal to reduce his carbon footprint to below 5 tonnes CO2e before 2030.
