Dean Cooper
At WWF, Dean Cooper is aiming for a “faster, greener, & fairer” global transformation to 100% nature-safe energy based on renewables. This includes transition away from fossil-fuels, nature-safe energy applications and partnerships and the practical energization of communities and conservation.
Before joining WWF in 2021, Dean worked for over 30 years in the international clean energy sector, including energy access, energy finance, renewable energy and energy efficiency. One area of focus has been cooperation with southern-hemisphere countries, particularly in Africa, where he previously lived for 10 years.
His career has involved working for national government, the European Commission, and the United Nations, as well as managing his own international business. He has an excellent understanding of the need for public and private sector co-operation to achieve sustainable approaches that address local, national and global energy issues. He has focused on practical business solutions to meet the needs of end-users.
