Claire Smith is a climate fund manager, fintech entrepreneur, and impact investor with over 40 years of experience in finance. She is the founder of Beyond Investing, a humane investment platform offering cruelty-free public equity strategies, and its venture capital arm, Beyond Impact, which has invested in over 30 sustainable, animal-free, and carbon-negative innovations across food, materials, and pharmaceuticals.

Beyond Investing developed the US Vegan Climate ETF (VEGN), listed on the NYSE in 2019, along with other vegan and fossil fuel-free indexes. Claire also co-founded Beyond Animal, a networking platform for the animal-free economy, and leads the Beyond Cruelty Foundation, advocating against animal exploitation and funding animal sanctuaries.

Recognized as "Investment Leader of the Year" at the 2022 Sustainable Investment Awards, Claire’s funds have earned multiple industry accolades. Earlier, she was a partner at Albourne Partners, specializing in hedge fund research, and worked at UBS as a derivatives expert. She began her career at Chase Manhattan Bank after earning a Master’s in Chemical Engineering and Business Management from Imperial College London.

A champion for women in finance, Claire founded 100 Women in Finance Geneva in 2007, raising over $1.2 million for charity. She also served on the board of AVVEC, a Geneva-based domestic violence support charity.
