Christopher Pountney
Global Decarbonisation and Sustainability Skills Leader,
Arup
Chris leads climate mitigation and GHG advisory projects in Arup’s London Climate Team. Drawing on a technical background in buildings and energy systems, he specialises in data-driven approaches to decarbonisation challenges in the built environment. Over 20 years, Chris has developed detailed evidence bases and action plans for districts and masterplans, for local authorities and national governments, and for corporates in a range of sectors.
Chris has been the Technical Lead for the Whole Life Carbon Roadmap for the UK Built Environment, a project by the UK Green Building Council where over 100 industry stakeholders were convened to co-create a net zero pathway for the UK Built Environment. More recently, Chris was a member of the SBTi Expert Advisory Group on Buildings. He is the Arup Global Skills Leader for Decarbonisation and Sustainability developing technical excellence across the firm.
