Chris’ work addresses the management of agricultural and semi-natural ecosystems for climate change mitigation, adaptation and sustainable food production. His research focuses on the sustainable management of agricultural peatlands, and ranges from field-based measurements and experimental trials to government advisory roles and international greenhouse gas emissions reporting. He was a lead author of two IPCC reports, and led work to incorporate peatlands in the UK’s national atmospheric emissions inventory. He is a current member of the Climate Change Committee’s Adaptation Committee, and an author of the recently published Well Adapted UK Report.
