Chris Butler
Co-CEO,
Ethex
Chris’s career in finance and investment spans 37 years in professional and voluntary roles.
A graduate of the University of Edinburgh, Chris worked for 22 years as a portfolio manager, Head of Research and Director of an employee-owned global investment firm. He was then CFO of a transatlantic book publisher with offices Oxford - where he discovered Ethex.
Enthused by the potential of impact-driven investment, Chris joined as Finance Director in 2021 and is now co-CEO, Lisa Ashford MBE, to build on Ethex’s track record and prepare for the next phase of growth.
In a voluntary capacity, Chris is Treasurer of the Oxford Circuit of the Methodist Church and an advisor to Christian Aid’s Finance, Fund-raising and Investment Committee.
