Cherry leads investment strategy and whole-portfolio outcomes for EMEA pension fund clients at BlackRock. As Client Chief Investment Officer, she oversees strategic and tactical asset allocation, portfolio construction and manager selection across public and private markets for institutional investors. She also leads BlackRock's investment case for nature and biodiversity, translating impact ambitions into investable multi-asset portfolios with measurable outcomes. Cherry has over fifteen years of experience at the intersection of finance, macroeconomics and sustainability. She joined BlackRoc's Financial Markets Advisory Group in 2015, advising central banks and policymakers on financial stability and bank climate and balance sheet risk, before moving into asset management to direct capital toward long-term solutions for pension funds across the UK, Netherlands and Continental Europe. She co-authored BlackRock Investment Institute's research on nature as an investment risk, developed biodiversity analytics now used globally across BlackRock portfolios, and has identified investment opportunities in eligible public and private markets aligned with nature goals. Cherry is a member of the TNFD Working Group and the World Economic Forum's Nature-Positive Transition working group. She regularly speaks at events and attends conferences including COP16/17. She was awarded Sustainable Investment Woman of the Year by Investment Week in 2025 and part of the Top 50 Women in Sustainable Finance. Cherry holds a PhD in macroeconomics from the University of Cambridge and spent time as a visiting scholar at De Nederlandsche Bank and University of Sydney. She sits on the board of Biflores, a conservation NGO in Cabo Verde focused on endemic reforestation and marine protection, and co-founded Quantess London, a not-for-profit platform for women in quantitative fields.
