Arfa Shahid is a Senior Advisor Climate Adaptation at National Highways, where she focuses on providing strategic direction to climate adaptation and resilience efforts for the strategic road network. Her work is about making sure our network continues to operate safely and reliably as the climate changes.
She started her career working on climate adaptation in local government and on disaster risk reduction projects across the Global South, which shaped her practical approach to resilience and managing real-world impacts of extreme weather.
Today, she works at the intersection of climate science and infrastructure — helping turn risk into action and embedding adaptation into how we plan, design and operate the network.
