Angélica Afanador is a global leader in sustainable finance with more than 20 years of experience supporting financial institutions to align portfolios with net‑zero pathways and accelerate real‑economy decarbonization. She brings together strategic consulting expertise and deep technical knowledge of climate change and sustainability in the financial sector.
As Executive Director of PCAF, Angélica led the organization’s transition into a global non‑profit, strengthening governance, expanding technical guidance and significantly increasing its global reach, influence and number of signatories.
In her role as Director at Guidehouse, she leads sustainable finance activities in Europe, supporting banks, investors, and multilateral institutions in measuring financed emissions, setting science‑based targets, developing transition plans and defining actionable decarbonization pathways.
Angélica is the author of multiple climate and sustainability publications and a contributor to key industry methodologies. Previously, she spent seven years at the World Bank and the United Nations, leading climate and energy projects across Latin America, Africa and Asia, shaping her global, systems‑level approach to sustainable finance.
