André Guimarães is an Agronomist who graduated from the University of Brasília and holds a Master's degree in Agricultural Economics from Cornell University. With more than 30 years of professional experience, he has held leadership positions across the non-profit sector and has also worked at the World Bank and in the financial sector. He currently serves on the boards of several organizations, including Imazon, the Brazil Climate, Forests and Agriculture Coalition, and the Woodwell Climate Research Center. André is currently the Executive Director of the Amazon Environmental Research Institute (IPAM). He also serves the Brazilian Presidency of COP30 as Special Envoy for Civil Society, supporting engagement between civil society organizations and the COP30 process.
