Alvier Almeida is a Partner and Portfolio Manager at LBV Asset Management LLP, a London-based investment firm specialising in long/short equity strategies. With over 15 years of experience across hedge funds, activist investing and M&A, he brings a disciplined, fundamentals-driven approach to capital allocation, with a strong focus on governance and long-term value creation.
At LBV, he co-manages concentrated equity vehicles centred on bottom-up stock selection and plays an active role in investor relations and capital raising. Earlier, he served as Vice President and member of the Investment Committee at Petrus Advisers, contributing to European activist campaigns that unlocked significant shareholder value.
Alvier introduced structured sustainability metrics into LBV’s investment framework, embedding environmental, social and governance analysis directly into fundamental research. In 2025, he completed the UNITAR Certificate in Green Economy and Trade. As a WSET Diploma holder and Master of Wine student, he has developed first-hand insight into the agricultural, climate and resource challenges facing the wine industry. He is also the founder of Alvino.co.uk, a wine consultancy focused on curated selections and education.
