Adam Cormack
Head of Campaigning,
Woodland Trust
I am an award-winning communicator and campaigner. I work for the Woodland Trust – the UK's largest woodland conservation charity – where I lead the organisation’s campaigning team and oversee a programme of work to deliver the Trust’s work in towns and cities. My job takes me to lots of interesting places and gives me the opportunity to speak to a range of audiences about the Trust’s work – from major donors and partners to MPs, activists at protest events and the national media. I’m fascinated by the relationship between people and nature and have spent the past fifteen years working on communications projects and campaigns about urban nature. I’m currently leading the development of a new programme of work for the Woodland Trust on tree equity. This powerful idea highlights disparities in urban tree cover and identifies the urban neighbourhoods most in need of expansion of tree cover. The programme will combine research and policy with delivery projects with communities and councils that will plant more than half a million trees in some of the UK’s most tree-deprived neighbourhoods.
