Water is emerging as the next critical frontier of global risk—where carbon was five years ago in terms of mainstream business concern—driving constraints on regional resilience, supply chains and capital flows. This roundtable launches the UK Climate and Water Coalition, bringing together business, community and policy stakeholders to address water as a systemic, multi-sector challenge.

Water security is increasingly central to economic stability, environmental integrity and human rights, yet impacted stakeholders are not yet meaningfully embedded in decision-making. As climate and energy pressures intensify, water is becoming a defining factor in investment, infrastructure transformation and regional competitiveness, including the rise of “greenshoring” based on environmental resilience. The discussion will focus on value creation, equitable access and the urgent need to integrate water into strategic economic and sustainability planning.
