Businesses and financial institutions are increasingly taking steps to understand and manage their nature dependencies, impacts, risks and opportunities. Lessons are emerging on how to implement this in practice: where to begin, which tools to use, and how to interpret the outputs to inform decision-making as well as disclosure. The IPBES Business and Biodiversity Assessment, published in February 2026, highlighted the need for businesses and financial institutions to move from awareness to informed decision-making, disclosure and action.

This workshop will provide a summary of key insights from the IPBES Business and Biodiversity Assessment and presentations of the latest updates to leading nature tools including ENCORE, IBAT and WWF Risk Filter. The session will follow an interactive format. It will begin with a short scene-setting presentation, followed by lightning talks on key tools and resources, and then an interactive World Café where participants can explore the tools in small groups, ask questions and discuss how they can be applied in different organisational contexts.
