The unexpected reason we are disconnected from our climate
The impact of psychological trauma is the missing piece, so frequently overlooked, in the climate change conversation. We would prefer not to acknowledge how prevalent trauma is within our society, our businesses, our homes or how much it's impacts reverberate throughout our lives. One of the coping strategies is to disconnect from ourselves and our environment, with devastating consequences. However, once we acknowledge this, we can take steps to reconnect and heal, not only ourselves, but also our climate.
