Lizzie Carr MBE: From Adversity to Action
Join Lizzie Carr MBE, eco-adventurer, environmental campaigner and founder of Planet Patrol for an inspiring and thought-provoking conversation about resilience, purpose and the power of collective action. Following a cancer diagnosis in her 20s, Lizzie discovered paddle boarding as part of her recovery and took on her first major endurance challenge to become the first person in history to SUP the length of England's waterways. What began as a personal challenge evolved into a global environmental movement that captured the imagination of thousands of people globally.
In this session, Lizzie will share her remarkable journey and draw on the work of Planet Patrol to demonstrate the power of community action and data collection in to tackle environmental issues like plastic pollution and water quality and its role in pushing for meaningful action in both industry and government.
Discover how citizens can become agents of change, the importance of community-led data in reshaping environmental decision-making and what it takes to build movements that deliver lasting impact for people and planet.
