Nature Finance: Risk Awareness, Practical Solutions and Emerging Frontiers
Nature and biodiversity-related risks receive growing attention - driven by initiatives like the TNFD and rising expectations from regulators and financial supervisors. However, mainstreaming nature across global portfolios remains a major challenge, particularly due to the inherently local and complex character of impacts and dependencies on biodiversity, and nature more generally.
This session explores how financial institutions can turn their nature-related ambitions into practice - starting with deforestation as a tangible, actionable entry point. We will also highlight current best-practices and look ahead to the methodological frontier: how AI, geospatial data, and supply chain modelling are shaping the future of nature finance, and where their limitations lie.
