Vateris (formerly Concrete4Change) is a UK climate-tech company developing a scalable carbon-to-materials platform that permanently mineralises CO₂ into high-value construction and agricultural products. Our technology captures CO₂ from industrial and biogenic sources and converts it into engineered calcium carbonate (GypCarb™), a low-carbon concrete additive that enables significant cement reduction while permanently storing carbon.
The construction industry is responsible for approximately 8% of global CO₂ emissions, largely due to cement production. Vateris addresses this challenge by transforming waste streams, including gypsum and captured CO₂, into valuable products that can be integrated into existing industrial supply chains without requiring major changes to manufacturing processes.
Our patented process produces GypCarb™, a high-performance calcium carbonate material that improves concrete performance while reducing embodied carbon. The process also generates potassium sulphate (SOP), a premium low-chloride fertiliser used in high-value agriculture, creating an additional revenue stream that strengthens the commercial viability of large-scale carbon removal.
Vateris has successfully demonstrated its technology at pilot scale and is progressing towards commercial deployment. The company has raised approximately $10 million through a combination of equity investment and grant funding and is backed by leading strategic investors and industry partners, including construction materials manufacturers and building technology companies. Our technology has been validated through multiple independent trials with global construction industry partners.
