Since its founding in 2003, SSG has supported organizations and communities in designing and evaluating policies and programs that enable low-carbon, energy-efficient, healthy, resilient and equitable futures. We are continually expanding the impact and scope of climate action through rigorous technical expertise and equity-focused engagement strategies. Our leadership has been most recently recognized with the Community Energy Association (CEA) Climate Action & Energy Award, the Policy, Law, and Tool Award from the American Planning Association (APA) Sustainable Communities Division, and the Economic Resilience Award from Climate Proof Canada.
SSG has completed nearly 300 projects on climate action for organizations and governments of all sizes and in diverse political and geographical contexts, including rural and urban communities. We have encountered and addressed a wide range of climate and energy policy challenges and we are continuously advancing the fields in which we work—including climate mitigation policy, risk management, energy policy, and program development. Our interdisciplinary staff of 50 include environmental scientists, engineers, planners, engagement and communications specialists, educators, researchers, economists, and more.
