Sage
As part of its commitment to sustainability and responsible business, Sage through Sage Earth, offers innovative carbon accounting tools that help businesses measure, manage, and reduce their carbon emissions. By leveraging automation and AI, Sage Earth enables SMEs to track emissions across operations and supply chains, align with global standards such as the GHG Protocol and PCAF, and make informed decisions on their journey to net zero.
Sage is also pioneering the integration of carbon insights into the financial ecosystem, working with banks and fintechs to support green lending and sustainability-linked finance. These solutions are designed to make credible carbon reporting more accessible to the millions of SMEs that form the backbone of the global economy.
Sage plays an active role in shaping the future of SME sustainability through collaboration with leading industry and policy initiatives. This includes:
> Icebreaker One’s Project Perseus, which is building a trusted data infrastructure to support scalable, standards-aligned emissions reporting;
> The B4NZ (Bankers for Net Zero) SME Standards Working Group, contributing to the development of practical, credible carbon accounting frameworks for small businesses;
> The Broadway Initiative’s UK Business Climate Hub, where Sage supports the delivery of tools and guidance to help SMEs start their decarbonisation journey;
> And the Carbon Accounting Alliance, where Sage works alongside fellow providers and stakeholders to improve interoperability, transparency, and trust in carbon data.
Sage is also leading a new collaborative project: Carbon Commons. Developed in partnership with Small World Consulting and supporters such as British Business Bank, B4NZ and the Carbon Accounting Alliance the project will produce a new and open source dataset consisting of tens of thousands of standardised emissions intensity factors, creating a reliable, open-source basis for measuring emissions across entire supply chains.
