Mayor's Green Skills Academies
Stand: G240
The Mayor’s Green Skills Academies are partnerships of training providers supporting opportunities for Londoners to access good green jobs and training. Each one is based around a different sub-region of London, to support a focused approach to supporting local skills and employment. The programme was established as part of the London Recovery Plan (2020), and in 2022 the hubs were born. Each hub has a ‘hub lead’ institution, which takes the lead on organising activity for their partnership. The Academies seek to engage new employers, support learners into training and education and see Londoners progress into work placements, employment, or apprenticeships. The Green Skills sector is a key priority, in a bid to transform British industries, especially construction, in line with the Government’s Net Zero target of 2050.
The Mayor’s Academies attending Reset Connect are:
• Local London: Barking & Dagenham, Bexley, Bromley, Enfield, Greenwich, Havering, Newham, Redbridge, Waltham Forest.
• West London: Barnet, Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow.
• London South Bank University: Lewisham, Lambeth, Southwark.
The remaining Academies are South London Partnership, Capital City College Group, and Groundwork.
