Today, the energy transition is focused heavily on generating more renewable electricity. However, as renewable generation grows, the challenge is increasingly becoming one of coordination. Renewable energy is often produced when consumers do not need it, while demand peaks at times when electricity is more expensive and carbon intensive. Decent Energy solves this problem by intelligently managing when energy is consumed, stored, and shared.
Our software platform connects and optimises low-carbon technologies such as solar panels, battery storage systems, EV chargers, and heat pumps. Using real-time data, weather forecasts, electricity prices, grid carbon intensity, and machine learning, our platform predicts the optimal way to manage these assets. This enables customers to reduce both the cost and carbon intensity of their energy consumption automatically, without installing additional hardware or changing their behaviour.
At the heart of our platform is Shîfter, our optimisation engine, which continuously analyses energy demand and orchestrates connected devices to maximise value for customers. Alongside this, Flexer enables participation in flexibility services, allowing customers to earn additional revenue by supporting the electricity grid during periods of high demand or excess renewable generation.
Underpinning these products is the Decent Energy Grid, a manufacturer-agnostic interoperability platform that connects a wide range of energy-smart appliances through a single interface. This creates a foundation for a more connected and efficient energy system while reducing the complexity traditionally associated with integrating multiple technologies and manufacturers.
